We want to lead student accommodation across the African continent. South Africa is one of many countries desperately in need of student accommodation. We aim to have a large housing footprint close to the major institutions and to assist students in transitioning into the job market.

It is difficult for graduates to find jobs these days, even with great qualifications. We want to close this gap and enable them to transition into their future seamlessly.

The journey of Retha van Rooyen into property investment

The Beginning

Retha's journey into property investment was unintentional. She initially rented but decided to buy her first property after a negative experience with a rental agent. This led to property purchases driven by personal needs and family circumstances rather than investment goals. Over time, she realised the financial and emotional benefits of property ownership.

2017 - Mindshift

Despite initial successes, she only considered herself a property investor when attending a mindset training course in 2017. This course inspired her to pursue property investment with intent, marking the beginning of her deliberate journey in the field.

2020 - My Student House Founded

My Student House was founded in 2020 by Retha van Rooyen, where she took the first steps towards the land of the free and became a student property mogul. The result outweighed her greatest expectations.
